Overview
Did you pack your grass skirt? No? Well, it’s okay. It’s perfectly alright to dress your best, too, at Hula's Modern Tiki. It’s a locally owned favorite, with locations in Phoenix and Scottsdale. Think back (or imagine) a classic tiki bar in the ‘50s and ‘60s, and then add an urban twist.
Hula’s Modern Tiki attracts all kinds: Hipsters, youngsters, oldsters and you. It’s open most of the day as well. If island and American cuisine sounds good for brunch, lunch or dinner, come on down. You’ll want to come back or stay for late-night drinks too. The bar is always full of laughing friends!
What can you expect to eat here? How’s this for starters? Island Style Poke – a raw ahi flavored with soy sauce, sesame oil, avocado, onions macadamia nuts. Hula’s Hangover Hash is the perfect brunch after a long night, and the Big Sur Black Bean Burger makes for a healthy lunch. The vegetarian burger is smothered with grilled Maui onions, shitake mushrooms, jack cheese and sun-dried tomato pesto aioli.
Dinner will be a hard decision, but you can’t go wrong with Bali Hai BBQ Ribs. These tender pork spare ribs are marinated in mango BBQ sauce, and sweet potato fries and slaw couldn’t make a better pairing. As you order Key Lime Pie for dessert, make sure you sneak in another round of The Pink Bikini Martinis.
