Do yourself a favor when in Reno, and leave the casino for a bit. There’s a strange and beautiful outdoors waiting – desserts, lakes and rocky hills. A half an hour of dessert outside of Reno is Pyramid Lake. It’s deep blue expanse pops against the barren, brown landscape. The main site is what gives the lake its name. A rocky pyramid formation juts upward in a stately, immoveable display. A few similar, smaller rocks dot the lake near it. You can ponder this mysterious natural art or take to fishing or hunting.
