POWELL’S CITY OF BOOKS
Spanning a full city block, Powell’s City of Books might feel more like a county library than a bookstore. It’s the biggest bookstore in the world that sells new and used literature. And big means big. You’ll need a map to figure out the nine color-coded rooms.
Take the three-door elevator up and down and find a mystery or Sci-Fi novel that catches your imagination. If you want to check out the first chapter before buying, then head to the coffee shop, where you can read up to three unbought books as you sip a hot drink. With 1.5 million copies, it’s inevitable for any reader to find a jewel.
